Aloha! Welcome to the Guy Takayama 2017 Pro-am Noseriding series. Wow! Who would have thought we would be here today. It’s been nineteen years since the first Oceanside Noseriding event and officially seventeen this year. This all started in the mid eighties when the HangTen west coast contest was held in Oceanside CA. It then headed over to the east coast Sebastian inlet, Florida. After years of hiatus we the club, decided to resurrect this part of the contest and turn it into an annual event, and here we are. Over the years we have seen many talented and world renown surfers surfing this leg of the Oceanside Longboard Surfing Club contest. What a stoke it is to watch. This year our surf clubs and foundations have teamed up to bring a three stop Noseriding surfing series to already blossoming contests. The first stop is the Gulf coast of Corpus Christi Texas, 2nd Virginia Beach and 3rd Oceanside California. We are all non-profit organizations supporting our communities and our passion for surfing. To all participants a huge Mahalo for your support at each and every one of the events. What I am trying to do is to perpetuate and preserve the history of the sport of surfing. We are excited to give back to the communities and individuals who are in need and wanting to better their lives as well as their future generations. Without your support and participation of each and every person these events would not be possible. I am looking forward to seeing you all at the next event.
